The Sognefjord or Sognefjorden, nicknamed the King of the Fjords, is the largest and deepest fjord in Norway. Located in Sogn og Fjordane county in Western Norway, it stretches 205 kilometres (127 mi) inland from the ocean to the small village of Skjolden in the municipality of Luster. The fjord takes its name from the traditional district of Sogn, which covers the southern part of the county.

Jostedal Glacier is the largest glacier in continental Europe. It is in Sogn og Fjordane county in Western Norway. Jostedalsbreen lies in the municipalities of Luster, Sogndal, Jølster, and Stryn. The highest peak in the area is Lodalskåpa at a height of 2083 m.

We took a cruise from Bergen in the early morning- 8am for around 2 and half an hours to Balestrand, enjoying the spectacular view all the way- blue sky, white and soft cloud, green mountains and the reflection from the greenish water, breathing the fresh Norwagian air, and relaxing in this cool atmosphere. After arriving Balestrand, we changed to a smaller ship continuing traveling into the fjord till the glacier. The scenery is even more fascinating during the second half trip, quieter, deeper water color, mysterious space, creating a feeling that far away from the human world, and nearer to the heaven. Yes we are getting closer to the largest glacier in European continental- Jostedal Glacier! And it has a cute heart shape. The guide took us on a bus to the glacier museum before reaching to the glacier. Movie regarding the formation and history of the glacier was played, as well as some interesting cultural and scientific stories were displayed in the museum. Local people sometimes climb to the glacier challenging themselves and watching the avalanche, which also attracts challengers from allover the world, just in case the glacier disappears one day in the future.
